Organized Play—Dynamic Deck Rules
1. Deck Construction Rules
1.1 Copy Limits
The 3-copy limit of a card in your deck is eliminated for dynamic deck play. Any number of copies of a card from your card pool can be put into your main deck.
1.2 Starter Terra Deck Restriction Removed
The rule that starter Terra played at the beginning of the game cannot also be in your main deck is removed.
1.3 Minimum Deck Size
Main decks must be a minimum of 25 cards instead of 50. You may remove cards as needed to reduce your deck size to the minimum amount. (Reminder: If you need to draw a card and your main deck is empty, you lose the game.)
1.4 Dynamic Deck Play
Use only the dynamic decks and boosters (if any) provided by the tournament organizer to construct your deck. The amount and type of boosters (if any) may vary from event to event. You may, however, use basic Aura from outside this pool.
2. Caster Rules
2.1 Single Caster Limit
You may only have 1 Caster. Set other Casters from boosters and the dynamic decks aside.
2.2 Drawing a Caster from Your Deck
If a player draws a Caster from their main deck in their opening hand or during play, they reveal it immediately and remove it from play. (Casters should never be in your main deck or hand.)
3. Terra Setup Rules
3.1 Missing Starter Terra Option
A player may start with their second Terra slot razed if they do not have a valid starter Terra. If they do this, they must tell their opponent if they are playing an allied Aura type (color) and what it is. It must still be a valid allied match for their Caster.
3.2 Double Starter Terra (Single Aura Only)
If you are playing only your primary Aura type, you may start the game with 2 copies of the same starter Terra in play (if you gained a second copy from your card pool).
4. Aura & Proxy Rules
4.1 Proxy Allied Aura
You are able to bring in Aura as necessary from outside the game or use proxy Auras to represent basic Aura (all Aura printed to date are considered “basic”) for purposes of trading for allied Aura.
5. Win Condition & Match Structure (OP Dynamic Deck Play)
5.1 Modified Primary Win Condition
A game does not end immediately when a player reaches 30 or more points. Organized play with dynamic decks will implement a modified primary win condition: The player with at least 30 points and more points than their opponent at the end of a round wins the game.
5.2 Overtime Tie Resolution
If there is a tie at the end of a round in which both players have 30 or more points, play one additional overtime round. If the overtime round also ends in a tie, the game is a draw.
5.3 Match Format
Organized Play MetaZoo matches will consist of single-game matches (best of one). The tournament organizer may decide, at their discretion, to allow best of three for later/final rounds. Players may remake their decks between games for dynamic deck play.
5.4 Match Time
Match time is at the discretion of the tournament organizer.
If a match has reached time and the organizer does not allow for extra turns, the player with the highest MP is the winner. Ties are allowed outside of single elimination. In single elimination, the tournament organizer may determine if players will play an extra round to break the tie or if the organizer will randomly determine the winner in order to break the tie.
